The therapists at Advanced Prosthetics Center are amputee “Gait and Mobility Specialists,” with one basic focus: provide a better and faster recovery. Our therapists employ specific exercises to support a proper prosthetic gait and make sure that a pateints balance and mobility are fully optimized.
While most physcial therapists treat only 1-2 amputees a year the therapists at Advanced Prosthetics Center treat over 75 new patients a year. It's all we do.
Our therapy gym features a one of a kind “Virtual Environment,” specifically designed for the rehabilitation of amputees. With a variety of “everyday” environmental barriers, our therapists can help train patients to confidently walk down ramps and slopes, securely go up and down curbs, stairs, and even safely walk on thick grass and gravel.
Physical Therapy Gym Our gym features several ramp and stair combinations along with a concrete curb to challenge patients throughout their process. Our exercise equipment is state of the art and carefully selected with limb loss patients in mind.
Litegait We understand the importance of learning how to walk correctly, in a safe and secure environment. That’s why we regularly use the new “Litegait” system during the first stage of therapy. While “partial weight bearing gait technology” is somewhat new, it is rapidly becoming the preferred way to teach people how to walk, and bring them to a level of function that was once unimaginable.
